In a break from a constant talk about my books, this letter will be slightly peripheral from that, save one review and an audiobook update mention.

The Grey Fairy Anomaly: First Review

This story is a beautiful tragedy from start to finish, Nick's flawless execution of the final book in this series is incredible...(redacted for spoilers) ...I was fully invested from start to finish with the characters growing and learning more about who they are...But most of all growing into who they're meant to be as adults with curveballs being thrown at them every time they think they've got it all figured out, which, in my opinion, is so relatable regardless of background or circumstance life is always giving us challenges to grow from and it was just extremely interesting to see how these characters have grown and adapted since book one. I highly recommend this book along with the entire West Haven Undead Books. Although this is the last book in the series, I hope it's not the final story of these characters I've grown to love so much.

I loved this review since it was far more detailed than a 'this book was great. I recommend.' So thank you to Ash for the wonderful review.

A Shoutout to a Reader

I was sick last month. Thought it was allergies, but it was a raging sinus infection. I went through two conventions, lack of sleep, many, many OTC drugs to try to help and hours and hours of driving with this thing in my head. It wasn't until I had a week break to see a doctor and have them tell me what it was.

While all this was happening, I received an unexpected email from a reader I met at a show a few years back. Most of the time, authors write our books and send them out into the world hoping the people we meet who buy them, enjoy them, never hearing another word until they pop back up to buy another book. And that's okay. That's how life goes. But I received this email. And the short of it is, this person is/was going through some darker times and said I was their beacon. It was a great thing to hear and especially a great thing to hear while sick.  So, thank you for that. You know who you are.

A way to support your favorite author/shirt artist

In response to something else that was asked in the wonderful email I received, they also asked me if there was another way to help show support. They already read all my books and own "more than enough t-shirts" which I can completely understand. So, for anyone who has read my books and needs more sooner than they come, or just wants to put a smile on my face, or whatever your reason may be, I have started a BuyMeACoffee account.

There is no expectation that anyone does this. It is just there since I was asked if there is any way to help do such things. That said, there are different way to help, if so inclined. One-time donations are always cool. There are different subscriber levels from the just because that will get you in-person discounts to something a little more that will get you on-line discounts.

A Fragrance for Finn

In a move that seems cool, if nothing else, I have paired with a candle/fragrance company to have a candle/wax melt based on the Fairlane books. You might be asking yourself why I would make a fragrance based on books that came out a few years ago.

Well, I am writing the next book or three in the series as Faith has her story to tell. What better way to promote a book about sex, love, and rock 'n roll than with a candle to capture the complexity of Finn and Faith's tumultuous relationship and Finn's hopelessly jaded romanticism than with something to smell while reading the love story of the ages.

While anyone can grab a pre-mixed scent of whiskey and leather, pop it into a candle and put a name on it, I am opting for the more painful route of creating an original scent. The notes will reflect the actual and metaphorical storm, the vinyl of his rock years, the whiskey they drink throughout the series, and more under notes of their lives. All blended together to give a scent that is uniquely and desirably Finn Fairlane.

One Last Thing:

Forgetting things is what happens when I get constant distractions from writing the newsletter. My apologies. That said, the audiobook for A Vampire Named Allison is completed and available on all audiobook platforms including Audible, Audiobooks.com, Spotify, and more! This book has the same narrator as book 3, The West Haven Undead. She is finishing up the series, hoping to have book 5 ready as an audiobook for when The Grey Fairy Anomaly releases on November 21st.

Thanks for being awesome and subscribing to my little slice of life!
