May is here and the time for Justin Timberlake references has already come and gone. Something else worthy of being referenced is right around the corner, I'm sure. What that may be, I have no clue. But there's always something.
Social Media Thoughts
A buddy of mine works in social media. He's not an influencer or anything. He works for a big company making ads for other companies. But he has a very intimate knowledge of the social media landscape. Why should you care? (I'm getting there.) If anyone owns a business, works freelance, or does anything public-facing, social media followers are not to be looked at as some flock of sheep following you around like lost puppies. Yes, that was an overly exaggerated view on them, but some people I have talked with think of them like that. But when running a legitimate business, think of them not as fans or congregation to do your bidding, but as a viewership akin to a tv station. Your videos and posts won't get in front of everyone who owns a tv, only those who watch your station. And getting followers is the same as having them watch a tv station. They aren't watching all the time, but when they are, you become one of the channels they flip through. I hope that helps someone make better sense of the social media landscape and the importance of the almighty follower.

After getting the printed proof from the printer, the illustrator from Hot Trash Comix made some adjustments which set us back a bit. Then the printer decided to up and move shop before fulfilling our order. They are finally on it and printing! This means I should have them by any July shows and beyond! Of course, you can always order it off my website if seeing me is not something you want to do. But progress pushes forward.
