Slow times at not Ridgemont High
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and a safe and happy new year. I celebrated by staying home and listening to the not-so-soothing sounds of police and ambulance sirens all night long because I enjoy living a block away from a fire station. But I enjoyed it. No matter how you celebrated, I am glad that you are all still around to read this, it means you survived the holiday.
I am welcoming in 2024 with less sarcasm than I did the last year. That was also my goal last year. I, like most people, enjoy the occasional sarcastic comment, but I found more coming out of my mouth was sarcastic than not. No one enjoys it that much. But 2024 is here and we have not died off in a fiery blaze of Armageddon, Ragnarök, or whatever you have been scared into believing.
Since we are all alive, let us enjoy the new year with the same wonderous awe and optimism of a kid at a magic show.
Last Month
Last month was a bit slow. I did do a one-day show in Ft. Meyers that was amazing. Then I did a one-day Spookala pop-up that was also great. I enjoy seeing my convention friends and hearing about their happenings. It's nice to know that people who read my books and wear my clothing line also like sharing their lives with me. Thank you for that.
The Books at Park Place signing was fun, as well. If you find yourself in St. Petersburg, FL, check them out. Groovy indie shop with a good selection of books.
Things with my publisher are slowly moving along. They had to pump the brakes on things. Wish I had more to tell you. They aren't keeping us in the dark. There's just not much to say. I don't think it will affect my release of A Vampire Named Allison too much. I know it was moved back from February to April, but two months is more time to catch up on the series.
I am writing the fifth and final book in The West Haven Undead series and it's coming swimmingly. It is shaping up to be my favorite and longest book in the series.
Ashby
"Who's Ashby?" you ask. If you don't know, you need to read The West Haven Undead book three, also titled The West Haven Undead. He's the book 3 baddie. The guy that tries to recruit the youth to help his nefarious ends.
I also figured for all the good guys I've highlighted in my newsletters, it was time to show you someone you will love to hate.
This month's events
This Saturday, I'll be at the Cocoa Beach Public Library from 9:30 am to 1 pm with a few other authors signing and selling and meeting some readers. If you find yourself in the area or with nothing to do, stop on by and say hello!
On the 20th, I think I'll be back at Books @ Park Place but that is still up in the air.
Those are all the events I have scheduled. I am trying to get into Central Florida Comic Con, but the waitlist is long, and I am not near the top. However, I am keeping my fingers crossed.
