The "I need a name contest."
First, I would like to welcome all my new subscribers! Thank you so much for being part of this journey with me.
I have to be honest, when spinning yarn for a story, I am extremely comfortable. Writing newsletters, on the other hand, I am anything but. I always feel like I am missing that special something that would make it pop. So, if anyone has anything they would like to see or see more of in my newsletters, please drop me an email at TheAuthorNickSavage@gmail.com. (I am still learning this new program, so if that doesn't work, I apologize.)
The other thing my publisher tells me I need is a name for the newsletter. I am both an author and an artist (I have my own line of hand-painted glow-in-the-dark clothes) but have no clue what to call the monthly send out. I am open to any suggestions and the winner will receive any one of my books of their choosing, signed and shipped! So send your ideas over to TheAuthorNickSavage@gmail.com with "Newsletter Name" as your subject.
If you're looking at the above image and wondering what that might be, you need to be reading The West Haven Undead series. That was a concept piece created by an old buddy of mine, Patrick. (He does some really cool stuff.) It worked great for the Undying in the world.
That said, I have some great news! The fifth and final book in The West Haven Undead series is with my personal editor as I type this. Once she gets it back to me and I do what I do, it will be time to send it off to my publisher, 4 Horsemen Publications.
This series has been a long time in the making and seeing it come to an end is extraordinarily bittersweet. It is time to do other projects, but this world has so much to offer that there is almost a definite chance I will be revisiting it in the future.
To celebrate 11 years of marriage, my wife and I went to see the Orlando Symphany Orchestra. It has been so many years since I've seen a live orchestra, and I am so glad we did this. The performance was flawless. The pieces were great. They opened with Mozart, then did a Bassoon duet by Vanhal, and ended with Dvorak. If you live in the Orlando area, or plan on visiting, I cannot recommend enough that you make a night out of this. We plan on buying their subscription series. It was so much fun!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween, celebrating safely or with someone keeping you safe and gathered or gave out lots of candy. And if the Halloween spirit was strong with you, may it carry over the rest of the holiday season. Whether it's enjoying time with family and friends or working in industries that keep you from them, may you find yourself surrounded with kindness and love this season.
If you are around tomorrow, (literally Nov 2) I'm in Bartow, Fl for the Sorting Hat Celebration and next weekend I will be at both Sci Fy Pop Fest on Saturday and Maker's Faire Orlando Saturday and Sunday (Okay, my awesome helper Ashley, who has some cool IG content, will be at Maker's Faire on Saturday). And you can always find me one way or another with my link tree.
That being said, I'm going to end with one of my favorite quotes: Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you might miss it. ~Bueller~
